Influenced at a young age by the injustices of apartheid in his home country, and later by living in New Zealand and Australia, founder Jerome Naidoo wanted to see a world where everyone has a voice and individuals could join their voices together when change was required.
When speaking about his early inspirations, Jerome often shares a story about visiting an African village desperate for resolutions. He witnessed this community form a human circle around the Chief’s home. This approach, while antiquated to modern eyes, was incredibly effective – the Chief had to come out of his home, ask the community what they wanted, hear their concerns, and retire to deliberate. This display of solidarity and collaboration forced the Chief to take actions reflective of the community’s wishes. After building three successful companies, these early seeds of Saybubble were watered with the advancements in computer programing and the ability to lay artificial intelligence over a map of the world; a map that everyone, regardless of location, could contribute to.
Two years of program development later, Jerome relocated his family from Australia to San Francisco to complete the design of the communications platform and begin beta testing with students at USF and SF State. With the initial framework built, the Saybubble team journeyed to Standing Rock Reservation to take supplies and join the fight against the pending completion of the Dakota Access Pipeline. On a bright Sunday, while circling the camp’s perimeter to stand hand-in-hand in peaceful protest with thousands of First Americans, activist, and military vets, the need for the platform was further validated.
The following month Trump took office and the next day a whole gender and their supporters mobilized in concern and solidarity across the globe. These events culminated in the realization that, to effectively organize, power, and sustain their missions, the change-makers of the world needed Saybubble’s technology first.
Back in San Francisco, and in collaboration with grass roots movements, the initial toolsets for communities of action were developed and the most robust platform for progressive groups was born.
SO, WHAT IS SAYBUBBLE?:
We are a unique technology platform for individuals and communities of action; to organize, to influence, and to effect local and national decisions. We believe change is possible through community engagement and that a sense of shared identity, civic duty, and purpose is central to the sustainability of a movement.
Our goal is to give all those wishing to make a change in the world a free platform to effectively organize –– streamline internal and external communication, alleviate workload, task member actions, decentralize collaboration with other groups, and quantifying impact –– so that these change-makers can stay focused on their missions at hand.
Utilizing propriety artificial intelligence and geo location we’ve combined a push notifications center, calendar, task management, collaboration system, social media, live interactive map, and analytics package all into one platform.
Our vision is a global forum built on a live map that every user, and every organization, can contribute to – this includes their actions, their events, or their thoughts on current affairs. This forum allows users, in real time, to see and discover information that other users and organizations post by opening the map and zooming into their community, or any community, around the world. For the first time, users, organizations, and decision makers will be able to see the digital impact and volume of organic content being created on the topics that matter most.
Download Saybubble and participate individually, or with a group, to change the globe for the better. Join the movements that inspire you or become a social journalist and help shape the communities we live in by taking action and sharing stories the world needs to see – together, ordinary people can do extraordinary things!
